Wendy Sharpe
Gold Award 2022 winner Wendy Sharpe returns to Rockhampton in July 2024 to create a mural in-situ in the Atrium space at RMOA. Wendy Sharpe is one of Australia’s most acclaimed artists and her work has been awarded The Sulman Prize, The Archibald Prize, The Portia Geach Memorial Award (twice), and two Travelling Scholarships. Sharpe has been a finalist in The Sulman Prize twelve times, The Archibald Prize seven times, and has held over 60 solo exhibitions around Australia and internationally. She was commissioned before the pandemic by the Jewish Museum in Sydney to paint a mural, which sadly, due to pandemic closures, was never on public view. She lives and works in Sydney and Paris.
