Footprints First Nations School and Group Tours | I, Object

Footprints First Nations Tours of I, Object provide the opportunity to unpack and understand the context of this touring exhibition from Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art.

Facilitated by Dr Melinda Mann, RMOA First Nations Arts Officer, tours will discuss the historical and contemporary problems of public and private collections, the consumption of Indigenous imagery, the possession of identity and the destructive narratives sustained by all of these elements. Participants will learn about the human attributes of cultural objects and the continuation and cultural practices that are both inherited and reclaimed.

In collaboration with Darumbal Peoples' Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, RMOA recognises that I, Object presents the opportunity to repatriate love and honour to the non-human forms of Country held in this exhibition whilst it is on Darumbal nunthi (Country). These tours are part of the effort to demonstrate care for these Ancestral objects.
