The Paradise Project: Food Guardian Workshops with Vipoo Srivilasa (Community Group Expression of Interest)

Expressions of interest are open to community groups to join a series of free workshops, facilitated by artist Vipoo Srivilasa. In these workshops, you will create your own Food Guardian artwork from textiles, inspired by favourite dishes, family recipes, and cultural traditions.

Together, we will explore memories of childhood food, stories of migration, and the journeys that shape us, using textiles gathered from the community to bring these ideas to life.

This is a welcoming space for connection, storytelling, and making. The workshop is open to adults in Rockhampton, whether you’ve recently arrived or have lived here your whole life, who have a story to share. No experience is needed.

Come along, share what you feel comfortable sharing, and be part of creating something meaningful together.

Note:

• This workshop is designed for adults and is not suitable for children under 15 years old
• A selection of artworks from the workshops will be displayed Rockhampton Museum of Art from 19 September – 15 November 2026
• Any artworks displayed will be available for collection following the exhibition
• Participant numbers per session 6-8 people

 

To submit an Expression of Interest please submit a Program Request Booking Form and nominate your preferred sessions.

Please note that booking forms will need to be completed four days in advance of your preferred date to allow us to confirm the availability with you.

Due to the small numbers in each time and session we recommend that you book as early as possible to avoid missing out on this wonderful opportunity.

Rockhampton Museum of Art will process applications and confirm.
