Next date: Friday, 24 July 2026 | 06:00 PM
to 08:00 PM
Join us for the official opening of our newest major touring exhibition, Too Deadly: Ten Years of Tarnanthi.
A major new exhibition celebrating Tarnanthi’s first decade, Too Deadly: Ten Years of Tarnanthi assembles more than 200 diverse works of outstanding contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art seen in previous Tarnanthi Festivals. The exhibition both revisits key Tarnanthi works acquired by Art Gallery of South Australia and features significant, memorable and favourite works, some of them conceived specifically for Tarnanthi. Several are monumental in their scale, others are immense in the cultural importance of the stories they tell. All reflect the creative vitality and adaptive genius of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
To celebrate, ARIA Award Nominee Jada Weazel will perform as part of the official opening. Hailing from Woorabinda, CQ, R&B/soul artist Weazel delivers music rich in depth, introspection and storytelling. Raw, deeply personal and transformative, Weazel is not just an artist but a truth-teller, a cultural custodian and a rising voice for her generation - this is the kind of live experience that remains with you long after the final note.
Ticket includes first access to the exhibition, curated grazing table and special performances by Darumbal Dancers and Indigenous musician Jada Weazel, with drinks available for purchase. Please note, due to the nature of the event, dietary requirements cannot be catered for however some GF options will be available.
