Gather for a fabulous night of art, food and dance as we celebrate Sally Smart's The Artists Ballet.
Join Vault Editor-in-Chief Alison Kubler for a special evening with one of Australia's most venerated contemporary artists with a practice that engages identity politics: ideas relating to the body; the home and history. Recognised internationally for producing stunning, large-scale cut-out assemblage installations, start the evening with a champagne reception and an exclusive viewing of Smart's The Artists Ballet, the monumental yet intimate donor commissioned works in the Long Gallery which explore the legacies of theatre and visual art.
Smart and Kubler will also share about their significant work with the National Gallery of Australia's Know My Name initiative, launched in 2019 and steered by a board including them, to celebrate women artists to increase awareness of their ongoing contributions to Australia's cultural fabric.
As the evening unfolds, enjoy a curated performance response from local dance artists as you experience dining in RMOA's Long Gallery.
Includes three-course dinner, drinks, conversation and performance. Seats are limited and we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
Seating arrangements for this event are allocated and based on the date the booking is made. Dietary, seating or special needs requests can be made at the time of booking or by emailing rmoa@rrc.qld.gov.au up to 19 February 2026. After this date, requests cannot be guaranteed.
