Life Drawing | with Jacky Chan
Learn to draw the human figure from life.
Over a six week course, you will progress through learning about skeletal form, muscle mass, gesture, proportion and angles with a variety of art materials. Uncover ways to breakdown and depict the human form through drawing. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience under your belt, this class will guide you week by week as you develop your skills.
With time out for yourself and your inner artist, you will have the opportunity to explore expressive ways of drawing the human figure. The course is on every Tuesday evening, 5.30pm to 8.00pm, starting Tuesday 31 October and concluding Tuesday 5 December 2023. The course will include a structure of short and longer poses by a nude life model.
Group materials such as easels, backing boards, erasers, pencils, additional papers included.
Please bring the following materials:
- A3 Sketch pad
- Charcoal – thick and/or thin sticks x 10
- Participants may choose to bring additional materials to suit their needs.
About the Artist Educator
Jacky is a classical realist painter who trained in an atelier in Florence that teaches the 19th century tradition of oil painting and drawing. Having spent three years studying followed by two years of teaching, his working method has developed into one of working primarily from life.
This level of thorough observation of subjects from life has allowed for a greater understanding and appreciation of everything, no matter how simple or grand.
